Kara encourages students to bring all levels of practice and wellness to the mat. With a background in running, rock climbing, hiking and martial arts, she loves the depth and focus that yoga brings to other physical activities. By using breath and movement to balance out the mind, body and spirit, she believes that the calming effects of yoga have a benefit for everyone. Kara found her way to regular practice by using yoga to recover from injury and create a healthier more balanced lifestyle for herself. Through her daily practice she has been able to become a more aware distance runner and a calmer rock climber. Students can expect either enthusiastic flow classes with high energy transitions or a relaxing, healing practice with focus on opening up the body. The classes will always include an emphasis on linking the breathe to movement. She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training under Kim Manfredi at Charm City Yoga in Baltimore, MD. She has gone on to take a special interest in restorative yoga and Vinyasa flow classes.
