Bhava Yoga Studio’s vision is to provide the greater Albuquerque area with a center for cultivating vibrant health; with a school for the practice, study and teaching of Anusara Yoga; and, with a community which is inclusive, life affirming, and centered in the heart. Bhava Yoga Studio teacher and director Bea Doyle

Bea Doyle combines over two decades of classroom teaching experience with a belief that yoga can transform us to create an atmosphere in her classes that is powerful, active and uplifting. A teacher of Anusara yoga since 2000, she continues to be a dedicated student of John Friend’s. Bea is a certified Anusara Yoga Instructor and owner of Bhava Yoga Studio, yet continually seeks to expand her boundaries and knowledge of yoga. Bea holds a master’s degree in mathematics and taught in the high school classroom for 22 years. She bows to her spiritual teacher, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda and to her yoga teacher, John Friend.

Bhava Yoga Studio teacher and director Bea Doyle

Erin Hansbrough began studying yoga and meditation in 1998, and has taught yoga since 2001. Her practice is a daily celebration of the empowerment, enjoyment and well-being found in yoga, and she loves to invite others to this celebration! Erin’s practice and teaching have been supported by many gifted teachers, most especially John Friend, Douglas Brooks, Bea Doyle, Desiree Rumbaugh and Naime Jezzeny. She has also spent several months in Mysore, India studying with K Pattahbi Jois. Erin helped to create and teach SUNY Buffalo’s Universal Yoga program, offering yoga classes made accessible to students with physical impairments. Her graduate work in Community Planning and Latin American Studies has amplified her commitment to peaceful communication and service to others. Erin feels deeply blessed to be a part of the Bhava Yoga kula, and the fantastic Anusara Yoga tradition!

Bhava Yoga Studio teacher Kristina Nguyen

Kristina Nguyen began her study of yoga in 1998 at Health Advantage Yoga Center in Herndon, Va, and completed Anusara teacher training there with her primary teachers, Susan Van Nuys and Doug Keller, in 2002. She has also studied with John Friend, Betsey Downing, Desiree Rumbaugh and Jamie Allison. She taught at Health Advantage from 2002 to 2004 and relocated to Albuquerque in June, 2005. Formerly a business consultant, Kristina finds that yoga has led her to pursue her own creative dreams. She hopes to give each of her students the same encouragement she's received from her teachers to express themselves through their yoga.

Bhava Yoga Studio teacher Susan Rhoades

Susan Rhoades began studying yoga in 1991 when she was 8 months pregnant with her daughter to help her work with the feelings of fear that she had from her son’s birth. She attributes her ability to stay focused and calm during her second labor to her yoga practice. Today she practices yoga to stay grounded, joyous and playful. She has explored many styles of hatha yoga including Kripalu, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Bikram. In 1999 she met Dr. Vasant Lad and was introduced to Ayurveda. She began studying Anusara Yoga at this time and subsequently met and trained with John Friend and other senior Anusara teachers. Susan is an Inspired Anusara Yoga Teacher. She integrates Anusara and Ayurvedic principles into her yoga practice and teaching and hopes to share the power of these sister sciences with her students.
